This role is pivotal in ensuring that knowledge is effectively captured, shared, and utilised across the program to enhance impact, sustainability, and learning. The Knowledge Manager is part of the communications and knowledge management unit, working closely with program teams to identify knowledge needs, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Day-to-day, the Knowledge Manager translates strategic vision into practical execution, reporting to the Communications Lead and working alongside program leads and technical specialists. This role requires someone with a proactive approach, a passion for knowledge sharing, and the ability to inspire and engage others. The ideal candidate brings fresh thinking, a commitment to growth, and the energy to drive knowledge management initiatives that support the program's objectives and contribute to its long-term success.

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

Prospera is Australia's flagship economic governance investment in Indonesia, supporting the Government of Indonesia (GoI) to advance inclusive, sustainable and climate-resilient economic reform. Implemented by Cowater International in partnership with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Government of Indonesia, the program runs from 2026 to 2035. Prospera is a dual modality program comprising partnerships between Australian and Indonesian government agencies along with distinct but interrelated Managing Contractor-led (Cowater) advisory and support services.

 

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

The Knowledge Manager will leads the development and manages the implementation of Prospera's knowledge management plan. This role is pivotal in ensuring that knowledge is effectively captured, shared, and utilised across the program to enhance impact, sustainability, and learning. The Knowledge Manager is part of the communications and knowledge management unit, working closely with program teams to identify knowledge needs, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

A. Knowledge Management Plan

Develop and Implement Plan

○        Lead the development and implementation of Prospera's knowledge management plan.

Continuous Improvement

○        Drive continuous improvement in knowledge management practices, ensuring alignment with evolving program priorities.

○        Identify opportunities for enhancing knowledge sharing and learning across the program.

B. Knowledge Capture and Sharing

Identify Knowledge Needs

○        Work with program teams to identify knowledge needs and gaps, ensuring relevant information is captured.

○        Facilitate knowledge exchange sessions and workshops to promote sharing of best practices and lessons learned.

Utilise Technology

○        Leverage technology and digital platforms to facilitate knowledge capture, storage, and dissemination through the OneProspera system.

○        Ensure accessibility and usability of knowledge resources for program staff and stakeholders.

C. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

Build Relationships

○        Establish and maintain strong relationships with program teams, stakeholders, and partners to facilitate knowledge exchange.

○        Collaborate with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to integrate knowledge management into program activities.

Promote Culture of Learning

○        Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the program, encouraging staff to share knowledge and insights.

○        Provide training and support to program staff on knowledge management practices and tools.

D. Compliance and Quality Standards

Ensure activities are designed and outputs delivered in accordance with Prospera's SOPs and standards, including technical quality standards, and donor requirements.

 

KEY RELATIONSHIP – Internal

Working at the heart of the program's knowledge management function, the role works closely with:

Communications Lead — reporting and supervision line; direction, support and professional development.

Technical Team — collaborating to identify knowledge needs and integrate knowledge management practices within program activities.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team — ensuring knowledge management supports evidence-based decision-making and program learning.

Finance and Administration Team — coordinating on budget allocations for knowledge management activities and resources.

Prospera Leadership Team — providing insights and updates on knowledge management initiatives and their impact on program outcomes.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) in relevant field.
  • Proven leadership in knowledge management: Demonstrated experience leading knowledge management functions, including strategy development and implementation.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Strong track record of engaging with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, international partners, and program teams.
  • Program coherence and alignment: Experience ensuring knowledge management practices align with program objectives and donor expectations.
  • Continuous improvement: History of driving improvements in knowledge management processes and practices.
  • Team leadership and development: Proven ability to lead and develop effective teams, coach others, and manage performance constructively.

Desirable

  • Master's Degree in Knowledge Management, Information Management, Communications, or related field.
  • Certification in Knowledge Management (e.g., Certified Knowledge Management Professional).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing knowledge management systems within development programs.
  • Familiarity with Indonesian context and language.
  • Experience working with Australian Government funded programs or similar international development initiatives.
